Girls' Weekend

IMG_5588

This weekend, Sam and the boys were invited to a dad's weekend at a lake cottage (Laney would have been included too, but she was too young). So, it was just my girl and me. We did some shopping, ate some frozen yogurt, went on walks and smelled the flowers.

Spencer and Owen had a fantastic time. In total, there were 6 children between the ages of 3 and 6. They rode on a boat, ate smores (or "snores" if you are talking to Owen), slept in sleeping bags, took nature walks and did some hard core playing. I was glad they had a nice time, but, truth be told, I missed the little rascals. Hope you had a nice weekend too.

Oh - I miss girl time with my daughters. Enjoy it - now that mine are 24 & 26 we get precious little time together.

Oh, how cute she is! I miss the times when my little girl would curl up on my lap to read a book!

Lucky you! No girls here. That sounds so fun and the picture is sweet!

What a doll, she is adorable! My girls are now 16 & 19 and I miss their little cherub faces and precious moments with them looking at flowers.

Enjoy this time, even when you have to put plastic on the table and every surface is covered with small toys. That too will pass quickly, friend! And you will remember it fondly.

This coming weekend, I am going to illustrate a wedding, how cool is that! So i am leaving behind my family and one perfectly capable Dad/Husband to man the fort and take care of 3 perfectly capable children, that said - I will still miss them!
Funny how we all need a little weekend away to really miss family time!
loved your photos! what kind of camera do you have?

So cute. And the photos! Really nice. Did I hear you got some new photo equipment for your bday? Those were elegant!
